I seem to remember a video of IHRA pit reporter Kristen Banks talking to Johnna and Jim Dunn at the PRI Show being posted on IHRA social media on the day of the original team announcement time. After the announcement was postponed, the video appears to have been taken down shortly after.I was wondering about this as well. New driver announcement (Johnna in the seat would certainly bring some eyes) and maybe a move to the IHRA?![]()
She has run Super Comp, and made runs in an A/fuel car. I can't remember if it was enough runs to get her license. While it is fun to speculate, has Johnna ever made a pass down a dragstrip in any kind of car? Even Jr dragsters?
I could see why running the IHRA would appeal to them from a financial point, but here's the issue that I see with that. Jim Dunn Racing has always kept a lot of sponsors on that car. When any of those sponsors research the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series, all of the videos and photos look like this. There are NEVER any spectators. Who would want to sponsor a car that no one sees???That Mighty Mac kid on YouTube put up a video from PRI saying that Jim Dunn was going to run IHRA.
The IHRA 2025 schedule was slappped together at the last minute. Now that they have time to tweak and add for the 2026 season, I think that they will have much better results. Besides IHRA is really getting a lot of media and social media attention lately and it seems like that's what everyone's talking about right now. I would wait until mid season next year to re-evaluate the amount of people in the stands. Look at how many people are talking about this whether good or bad, It's getting talked about a whole lot and they haven't even started advertising. When any of those sponsors research the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series, all of the videos and photos look like this. There are NEVER any spectators. Who would want to sponsor a car that no one sees???
What stands are full at 8 am anywhere, haven’t been to a race in a few years, maybe it’s different nowI could see why running the IHRA would appeal to them from a financial point, but here's the issue that I see with that. Yeah, and maybe Rob Reiner's kid will succeed him as a film director......Maybe they'll get Mike to drive.![]()
She's waaaaaay to hot to settle for himWhile it is fun to speculate, has Johnna ever made a pass down a dragstrip in any kind of car? Even Jr dragsters? Seems like she would need a year or two in at least A/Fuel or maybe even Top Dragster before climbing into a Fuel F/C.
I remember 3 or 4 years ago at Pomona, Johnna and Austin Prock were quite the hot item in the pits. I guess that didn't last long.
ClassyYeah, and maybe Rob Reiner's kid will succeed him as a film director......
I really hope he doesn’t go drive for DunnMaybe that’s where Jonnie Lindberg is headed. Back to driving. He could also help tune the thing.
The Dunn M.O. for many years has been to use a buy-a-ride driver to help fund the operation. I doubt that would change now. I don't think Lindberg would want to pay for a ride.I really hope he doesn’t go drive for Dunn
