Hey Bryan,
That's pretty exciting, huh? Buzzz just went home and won't read this until he gets back in the office in the AM but he was on the phone with Jim an hour or so ago. They were pumped! Jim sure builds a nice piece. I wonder how many other comp racers could build their own car from a pile of tubing off the racks in the shop and a box full of carbon panels then go out and win in it's first event? Jim said the thing drives like a Cadillac down Broadway. We were actually hoping for best appearing but best engineered was awesome. I expect he will also have best appearing within his next few events. You really have to see that car up close. From a distance, it's OK but the closer you get it's just wild!

Hey, Bryan, don't be a stranger. Two posts isn't enough for a man of your intellect and capacity -- especially among the likes of me.

Oh yeah, this isn't Jim's first Wally either. I know of one other for best appearing on his last car. Same painter I hear?

That car deserved best engineered. It is absolutely awesome. As nice in performance and workmanship as the big four. As easy to work on, and will last every bit as long if not longer.
I cannot understand why people don't go to someone like him and save 25-40 grand on a brand new door car for comp, T/S, super gas or super comp. Same parts, same car, same equipment. If you were going to run pro stock, I understand getting a car that others already have done lots of testing and know what works for the extra thousanths needed for their class. But for the other classes, it just does not make any sense.

Well now I can say that I have two cars (one is a funny car that did win an AHRA national event 4 years ago) painted by that painter that only paints National event winning comp cars. I see a trend starting with this painter!!

Or why someone will buy a funny-car from a big builder that needs heavy modifications the day it shows up at the shop rather than paying less for a car made by a fellow mater, (listed somewhere above), that is as good or better quality that is known to set world records from time to time . . .

I agree with you Buzz-our cars are built by Kurt Fleischmann of Pro-Start. Kurt is not as well known as the guys who build the pro stockers, but he builds a lot of top of the line TAFC and he's about an hour from Al Ackerman's shop. My altered and Al's F/D have both won best engineered awards and I'm put a Kurt car up against anyones, plus we know Kurt and we know we'll get exceptional service when needed-we always have. For guys out west I'd go with someone like Jim-you'll get special treatment. I don''t know the guy except that he always has great cars (and he finished 2 positions higher up in the top 10 in comp last year than we did).

Me too! My driver got them in both stock and comp, but he went with 11 in Stock, indicating the D1 championship
