he ran a 4.16 in Q4 and ended up #17. Either Lesenko got sick or Big Jim got mad.

Over the PA today, they said Arend was home (he lives right near the track) and Jon Dunn called him today (Saturday morning) and asked if he could drive the car. Jeff said yes, but that all his driving gear was with the Nostalgia Funny Car team he drives for, currently in Northern CA. So Jeff had to call around to find various other drivers that could lend him the helmet, firesuit, gloves, etc so he could drive the Mooneyes car. So it was a real last-minute deal. Later, they asked Big Jim while he was at the starting line what happened with Todd, and if I heard it right, he said Todd was "injured" and should be back in a few weeks. So maybe Todd fell off his bicycle Saturday morning before leaving for the track. Who knows? But Jim didn't allude to any disagreement with Todd or something like that.

I was at the Simpson trailer picking up my neck restraint Friday late.Todd was there talking to them leaning on the counter. I remember later thinking he didn’t look right, maybe the way he was leaning I don’t know. Didn’t think much more until I saw Jeff was driving. Maybe hurt his back?
