<P> (10-8-08) Elma, NY – One down, two to go. Three races in three weeks can be taxing on a team, but the recently completed "Shakedown at E-Town" was more of a fun weekend for the Elma, NY based team of Mike Janis. Without the pressure of the national event scene Janis was able to "have fun at the races".

"I enjoyed myself. We treated it as a test session and we knew that going in. To be honest we needed some test time any way, but to do it there was just great. A lot of my customers were there and many of them ran career bests. It was just a fun time," said Janis.

Janis had several customers at the E-Town event and out of the 16 cars competing in Sunday's Blown Pro Mod class six, in part or whole, were running Jan-Cen Motorsports prepared engines. (Jan-Cen Motorsports is the Janis Family business).

Now, with the no-pressure atmosphere of the Shakedown behind them it's back to the highly competitive world of legal Pro Mod acing. This week it's the NHRA Virginia Nationals held at Virginia Motorsports Park in Petersburg, Virginia.

"I'm really looking forward to running with the guys Jeg's Series. There are some good teams that we just don't get to compete against during our regular schedule. Running those guys is a great barometer for us," said crew chief, Mike Janis Jr.

Friday's schedule is set for two qualifying Pro Mod sessions, one at 3:00 PM and another at 5:30 PM. There will be one more qualifying session on Saturday at 1:30 PM with the first round of eliminations at 4:00 PM. Eliminations will conclude on Sunday during the second round of professional eliminations.
