J&B Motorsports looking to rebound in Epping

EPPING, N.H. - Following a disappointing first round loss two weeks ago at the Skull Gear World Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio, IHRA Torco Pro Nitro Funny Car driver Paul Lee and the Rislone Engine Treatment/ J&B Motorsports team will be looking to rebound at this weekend's Amalie Oil North American Nationals presented by New England Dodge Dealers at New England Dragway in Epping, N.H. Lee enters the event seventh in points and hopes to start a late season run to the top five.

After battling through parts breakage at their last two events, team owner Jeff McGaffic feels they have a handle on the problem going into this weekend.

"We made some adjustments to compensate for what we believe the problem is," said McGaffic, of Aliquippa, Pa. "We feel the car has been hurt when it leaves the line, so we've compensated with a fuel system adjustment at the hit of the throttle. We feel that is the main problem, so if we can get some luck on our side and avoid the nickel and dime failures, we should be in good shape."

"We feel we should be able to return to the form we were in earlier in the year," McGaffic added. "With Rislone on board, we are committed to building a championship caliber team. Our goal for this season is to work our way back into the top five in points standings."

Qualifying begins on Friday for the Torco Pro Nitro Funny Cars, followed by two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday.
