J&B Motorsports looking to keep momentum in Toronto

CAYUGA, Ont. - Coming off a runner up finish two weeks ago in Epping, N.H., IHRA Torco Pro Nitro Funny Car driver Paul Lee and the Rislone Engine Treatment/J&B Motorsports team are looking to keep the 'Big Mo' on their side going into this weekend's IHRA Canadian Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park. Lee enters the event seventh in points, and is hoping to make a late season run into the top five.

Team owner Jeff McGaffic cites the team is making steady progress after eliminating a parts breakage problem in Epping.

"We're just trying to establish a level of consistency," said McGaffic, of Aliquippa, Pa. "Our goal is to get point A to B on the first run and just build from there. If we can do that, we should be in good shape on Sunday."

Following their final round appearance, Lee is excited about the weekend.

"We're all excited about the direction the team is heading," said Lee. "Anytime you come off a strong showing like we had in Epping, it really pumps you up for the next race. Hopefully we can go all the way and get a win this weekend and make a strong showing for Rislone, Allied Machine and Science of Racing."

Qualifying begins on Friday, followed by two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations will conclude the event on Sunday.
