I'm definitely watching today. With the Oilers pick at # 22 its possible he might go to my favourite team. Congrats to your cousin. To be rated a first round pick is a huge accomplishment.
Thanks Dave. His Dad coaches the Manitoba Moose. I think Jamie's been skating since he was like 2. I remember going skating with his family once and he was still sitting in a child car seat. He's certainly stuck with it, and he's worked very very hard at it. That's all he's ever wanted to do. We'll see where he ends up. I guess several clubs have been talking to them, but they keep that stuff pretty well under wraps and tight-lipped until D-day.
I dont follow NHL very much (we tend to follow anything football in Texas), but good luck to your cousin Jamie today!!! I'm sure your entire family is a basket full of nerves until they call his name!!! We here at the mater send him our luck in the draft and to a great career in the NHL!!!
Jamie was selected by the Boston Bruins with pick # 97 in the fourth round. It was a bit of a surprise as he was projected to go in the second round. Not sure why he dropped to the fourth round, but he's officially property of the Bruins now......
Apparently, some of the earlier posts didn't make it through the shut down over the weekend. Good luck to him, like I said in the post that was lost, it doesn't matter where you're picked, it's what you do when you get there.
