CONCORD, N.C. – Greg Stanfield put the Nitro Fish/Coffman Tank Trucks Pro Stock GXP into the 14th starting berth for Sunday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Nationals at zMAX Dragway as the Countdown to the Championship gets underway.
When qualifying concluded Saturday, his quickest weekend run was 6.571 seconds at 209.75 mph. It came on Friday’s first quarter-mile lap. He added a 6.579 at 210.05 on his second run of the day.
Stanfield starts the playoffs in eighth place. He rallied from eighth and went all the way to second in the 2010 Full Throttle Series final standings. His first-round foe is Allen Johnson (No. 3, 6.529 at 211.99).
