Is there a better...

...interviewee than Jack Beckman?

Don't misunderstand me, I enjoy quite a few of the racer's interviews, especially when they say what's on the their mind rather than spewing the normal "I'd like to thank my sponsors" sales pitch. But Jack Beckman conveys his thoughts clearly and succinctly, win or lose. He almost makes the viewer feel as if he's speaking directly to them. Anybody else come across like that? Thoughts?

I agree and posted exactly that on the Autoweek site. Jack speaks honestly and eloquently as if his remarks are prepared. Frankly, from my limited knowledge of him, I attribute that skill to his abilities as an instructor at the Frank Hawley school. He has a true gift of communication.

I've run in to him at a couple of restaurants in Norco and environs. He's the real deal. Always glad to meet a fan, will pump your hand as if you are a long lost friend, introduce you to his kids and wife. And, no, I didn't interrupt his dinner or anything, he and his family are just waiting to be seated like everyone else. Success could not happen to a better person.

Can't disagree with that. I've always felt that Jeff Arend has a lot of those same characteristics. They appreciate what they have, don't forget where they came from, and come across as very personable.

Easy to answer, Antron Brown. The first time I had an opportunity to speak with him, it was as if he turned the tables and was there to meet me instead of the other way around. That's not to take anything away from Jack, (or anyone else at DSR,) I chat him up every time I can.

I've got to hand it to Don, he has a knack of surrounding himself with really good people.

Nobody is better "copy" than John Force! I expect him to introduce Bernie Fedderley at next March's Hall of Fame dinner and I can't wait.

I have told this story a few times, but it's worth repeating....I met Jack at the 1994 Winternatl's in the stands! Him and a buddy of his were sitting in front of me and this gal I was with while TF/FC were running! He had long hair back then, and he was competing in Super comp, but he had blown up his Good motor at the '93 finals so he had pulled the "Street" motor out of his El Camino and put it in his SC car! He still managed a 8.97@132 with a stock motor....That was the last I saw of Jack till I was seeing he had moved into Alcohol Dragster around 98-00! And here he is in the Big leagues....amazing!

My biggest memory of him then was he was such a comedian, he could have done stand-up comedy! I'm happy for his success!
