Is The “Cowboy” Drag Racing’s Media Darling?
Pawuk Makes Second Major Internet Appearance This Week, Featured on 1320TV.com

MEMPHIS, TN (8/19/06) -- Pro Stock driver Mark “Cowboy” Pawuk of Richfield, Ohio, made his second major Internet appearance of the week in an informative and humorous video interview that’s currently posted on 1320TV.com.

To reach the video, click on the “O’Reilly Mid-South Nationals” logo, then click on the thumbnail photo of Pawuk or the headline “Quarter-Mile Confessions.”

The interview, conducted by 40-time IHRA Top Fuel World Champion Clay Millican (It only seems that way, Millican is actually a five-time titlist), covers Pawuk’s early years in the sport, his most embarrassing moment, his connection with “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, and the changing face of race fuels in drag racing.

“I’m obviously honored that 1320TV.com thinks I’m a viable subject,” Pawuk said from his pit area at Memphis Motorsports Park where he’s competing in the Mid-South Nationals. “A couple of days ago we were interviewed by Rik Anthony for his BackInThePits.com web site, so two big opportunities like this are a little out of the ordinary for me, but I’m not complaining. I had a great time doing both interviews, so now, if we can get our Pontiac GTO running as good as my mouth appears to be, we might have ourselves a very memorable weekend!”

With an elapsed time of 6.833 seconds from Friday’s abbreviated qualifying show, Pawuk is currently listed 14th in the scheduled 16-car starting field, with two qualifying attempts remaining Saturday, depending on weather conditions.
