As a medically retired airline captain, I would easily say that I look normal on the outside, but it is not the case. The FAA disqualified me, and I cannot hold a flight medical. So you never really know.
I agree with his sentiment. I miss the actual flying part of the career. The time the door shut until it opened. I do not miss anything else.
Life priorities do change when something may scare the hell out of you.
