I tuned in to FS1 by accident last nite & got to see all but Rd 1 of T/F. Saw the times on Drag Race Central. I wanted so much to see 347, but -that- close. For whatever reason, thought of Garlits at Ontario in 1974, ran 247 and that was fast. OK, where is 350?

I was a kid, but I remember what he said scared him was what would happen to costs if racers did what he did during that event. I'm sure many here remember what I'm referring to.

Not a 'track' per se but racer/stuntwoman Kitty O'neil set a quarter mile ET and speed record that still stands today on one of Edwards AFB's runways in her peroxide powered rocket dragster, 3.22@411mph. She also wadded up a 368mph rocket funny car.

Kitty held the 'fastest woman of all time' (on land) title until 2019, after her death, driving Billy Meyer's original SMI Motivator that achieved a peak speed of 621mph at 60% power back in 1976 at a desert somewhere in Oregon. She lived close to our house in Texas for a time; pretty much a local legend.

Not sure I'd climb into this rather simple-looking LSR car but Kitty would climb into just about anything.

I believe Alan and Josh explained before NHRA runs a .370 tree and Martin uses a true .400 tree.
I was paying attention some time ago and knew that's why, others must not have...

Don't ever forget that there was a day when Force would've looked at Terry Haddock's current operation and think to himself: Someday, maybe that will be me.

He started with less than nothing and built the empire. I can guarantee you, Terry has that same dream.

Connie bought his first plane with a few bucks he won racing, but he also didn't start out with a Silver Spoon or a Trust Fund.

Unlucky. Martin held an IHRA race for many years this time of year with great success. Bad luck on the weather for the first time but Monday's great weather and performance made up for it....other than me having to work and not being there

The old IHRA race was held a little over a month previous to this race, in Early August.

When the race was announced to happen, I saw a lot of comments about it being too small and in and out traffic was gonna be a problem. I know the weather had a big effect on attendance but those that went what's your opinion.
I've crewed there many times from TF to TAF. And never had any problems there.

I was a little suprised that the track was narrow. Could see it on TV. No problem driving the track, the drivers did a good job except for a couple of incidents.
