Imagine if Messageboards like this existed 30+ years ago! (1 Viewer)

Thanks for noticing.

I remember how a lot of racers came here on Mondays just to see what everyone was saying about them. Many of them participated on this board until a few of the the single digit IQ posters chased them off. Remember the big debate on heat treated chassis tubing after Force almost lost his life in his funny car? I think that battle was won right here on Nitromater.

I still check in just in case Larry Fullerton, Mike English or Kevin Stith step in it. When it happens I want to say I saw it right here.

This place is tame now, compared to 10 years ago. Is it better, or worse?

Randy Goodwin said something very interesting, Imagine if Nitromater had the traffic it did 10 years ago.

Randy you hit the nail on the head with your comment!!!!!!!!!! Guess what it not only Nitromater that is seeing less racers visiting their site its many other car related sites even for street rods and custom car websites.
Right now there is just alot of people flat not interesting in drag racing, stock car racing or even building old cars. The big question is why is this trend continuing year after year.
Many are hoping this is trend that won't last forever because performance companies cannot hang on forever watching their sales go down every year.

I have noticed that many racing related websites no longer tell you how many people are online at any given time because they also see what is happening and are at a loss as to how to reverse this trend.

Weird part is local drag strips seem to be doing better with their local shows then the national events are doing.

Hard to figure what's going on right now. Jim Hill

One site seems to be having no trouble at all....

Or the great sunglasses debate.

Adding real names chased off the idiots. Sadly it also chased off many drivers who were secretly on here as well.

Remember Whit talking about our very own, and his biggest fan, Roger on air when he was sick.

We used to even get a driver sighting at mater meetings from time to time.

Yea, I remember that well.

Ran TJ Jr off, too. Something about his reaction time.

Sad, in a way..but there were some real dicks for sure. It was close to being a mini Bullet.

It is but I rarely see an actual Drag Racing thread there...or at least I didn't when I would go there. Occasionally a sportsman talk, which is cool, but not much else

Wow PJ.. what is an "actual drag racing thread"? The fact is, that site caters to the heart and soul of real drag racing, not to the billionaires boys club that are fawned over (or railed over coals) on Mater... The fact is, more guys over there do a LOT more drag racing than guys over here. It may not be everyone's cup if tea, as there is no PC monitors over there- its a bunch if guys (and gals) being raw- and on more than one occasion, discussing drag racing in its real format- not the happy, cheerful format that are the staples of other places...

Martin-when I would check in, I rarely saw any type of drag racing conversation. There was car talk at least and a whole lot of who can out &^&$ the next guy. Now I haven't checked in for several years so it may have changed.

I check in a few times a year and it is always just like you said.

I never open the trash or be trashed section, pretty rarely open the let's talk drag racing section, but I read the pro mod and top sportsman section almost daily. The technical sections are also very good. Racing on two wheels is pretty good too, but interestingly it is largely supercross talk (which in my view is one of the best 3 hrs of packaged motorsports there is on TV .... even my wife will sit and watch the whole race). The meltdown of the DRLs was a high point for them last year, but as Dave said their constant numbers seem to come from the T&A section.

I go to the Bullet quite a bit, in the Trash or be trashed section it's rarely about racing! It's show your old ladies' Bush, or Best titties.....not much about cars! And I bet traffic over would drop 70% overnight if they required Real names like here!
