I don't care at all if Cuttell got screwed. I care more about the vendors and racers that he screwed.

For a backwoods hillbilly I think I might have stumbled onto what's coming to light now with a previous post.
Elon screwed him harder than he screwed others.
I hope everyone gets paid and he learns from this. He's definitely not the first person to pay rob Peter to pay Paul to pay Mary! Won't be the last either. Don't condone it but you see it everywhere.
Yay for Darryl if he makes good on who he owes because he's probably in a world of $#!t coming down...

I know my neighbor that was runner. up in one of the sportsman classes is not paid as of this past Friday

I don't know, might be a bit premature to say Elon screwed him...not sure I could sign on to that yet.

If Darana was the primary contractor who:
1. "responsible for fulfilling a majority of the multi-million dollar construction, electrical, and piping permits.....", and
2. then "in early 2026" there were "severe operational inefficiencies (plaguing) the temporary infrastructure.... leading to recurring power outages and lower GPU utilization rates..."

Perhaps then there was no choice but to "pull the plug" on Darana. It might have been subcontractors who caused some of this too, which means Darana could have been screwed on that end (my thinking the choice of words from the post was about Darana securing permits). I wonder if the contract docs allowed for termination for failure to perform/deliver. But then I wonder if performance bonds and/or payment bonds were required and posted too.

I think we need more information, more specifics, before assigning blame on either party. From my limited experience, it seems hard to believe that performance or payment bonds were not involved. Just my $.02 however.
