IHRA cancels some 2026 events (1 Viewer)

Eh, my money would be on a data center not going there. I think a lot of this data center scare is overblown currently.

That said, I'm sorry you streak was broken. We went to MG twice, and I loved the venue/area, but it was a longer haul for us. We had our streak broken when Columbus lost to Norwalk, so we moved our annual trip there. Were you able to find a substitute race for MG?
Yes, it was actually Norwalk haha. We live an hour from the Grove. Many memories there, Englishtown was a annual event as well. We've been going to Norwalk last 3 years, love that place. Makes for a road trip tho, but I don't mind.

I don't think there will be a data center either. The amish in the area won't know what to do haha. But in today's world, anything is possible, example - Nascar at North Wilksboro.....

I wouldn't be surprised if he puts a dam data center up in Maple Grove once this mess is over.
There is too much land available in that area with better access to major roads and water than the parcel that holds Maple Grove.

I am also about an hour away. I am just about in the middle of Maple Grove, Englishtown, and Atco. Ten years ago, it was great. Now not so much.

Nice....I thought maybe you'd go to Maryland.

The Amish Data Centers are the ones we all used to have ourselves:

How far is it for you to MIR? For us, it's almost the same distance as MG was.

Sorry to those of you who don’t have Facebook, but this is the most in depth story so far, it’s long but Dean does a great job explaining what he knows to this point.
I don’t disagree with anything Disco Dean says. He is saying Darryl is a bad business man. Darryl spent $250 million on the IHRA. That was for 18 months. He somehow thought that was sustainable but the racing he invested in is not that profitable. He had all of his eggs in one basket working with Elon. When Elon pulled the plug for whatever reason on his contract with Darana Hybrid, he was left with zero income. Dean truly believes that Darryl will eventually pay the racers when he can. That would be great. But why does Dean have to come say this and not Darryl? Darryl Cuttell knew heading into Columbus that the money wasn’t going to be paid. He should have cancelled the race or at least come clean prior to the race the payments would be late. Instead he has ghosted all the companies and teams that are owed money. That is not good for the sport.

Welcome to professional drag racing Disco Dean. He isn’t racing anymore because he can’t make money racing. He could go run PDRA or Mid West series. He’s not because they don’t pay enough. Unfortunately racers in the professional categories race because they are rich buisness owners or have great marketing partners. That’s sad that our sport is that way but it has been for the last 40 years or more. Darryl was trying to change that which is awesome but unfortunately there isn’t Fortune 500 companies lining up to shell out 50 million a year for series sponsorships.
