Just a few of my shots from State Line. Just to show that I don't discriminate, I like a little dirt action as well.

Great shots Chad. I'm old sand dragster racer from the 80s and 90s. I think that there was a record ET run (that wasn't backed up) at Primm last weekend in Top Fuel Dragster. Scott Whipple ran a 2.345 et and was able to set the MPH record at 159.65 mph. Thats in 100 yards folks. 1/16 mile. Way back in the 80's Butch Blair in one of his Fugowie cars supposedly ran a 2.20! That would have been with dual rear tires which aren't legal anymore. If you have never checked out a pro sand drag race, you might want to try it.

I was at the top end away from the speakers so I was'nt taking notes. NSDA sand-drags.com has yet to post the stats. The one pic of Scott in the yellow and red flamed TFD was taken Saturday evening during the first round elim. Also in the right lane another Canidae team member Turtle the darker of the team cars with the yellow nose. Sunday afternoon second round, red and silver TAD in the left lane wheels up, and the top end chute shot in the same run is Mike Denunzio in a Canidae/Whipple machine. Scott and Mike both won yesterday.

Sand drags seem to be getting popular again. There are a lot more quality TF and TAD cars than there were 5-10 years ago. A few big name NHRA drivers have raced sand drags. Larry Minor used to race on sand and I remember in the late 80's Cory Mac brought his turbo VW asphalt car to race on sand at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino. If my memory serves me right, I think that Ed the Ace McCulloch won some sand race that was supposed to pay him one million dollars. I think that they screwed him out of the money. It was some screwy promotion where they had pro drivers racing (Buick?) sedans with paddle tires.

I have not met or seen LM but I see his name on alot of cars running around the NSDA races.
