Just wondering why drag racing announcers are all men.

Why cant we have optional announcerless nhra.tv lol

That’s a good question, I guess. Certainly no reason why not. You’d think this would have happened way back in the 70’s by now….especially given the amount of successful female pro drivers we’ve had at the very top levels of the sport.

I've seen several do color commentating. There are more women involved and competing in NHRA drag racing than any other form of motorsports all things being equal. While I can't say for sure, it's possible more women rather rather do it than talk about it.

How many women are announcing at the local level? Almost everyone on my side of the fence (Stadium Announcing) started at the local level and moved up. If someone is announcing at a local track and wants to come out and "Audition" they would be welcome to do it. Just like Derrick Putnam last week, that dude is good, and will likely get a chance to do more.

The last lady that was on the schedule as a regular with us was Crash Gladys of Speed Freaks fame, but track announcing wasn't really her forte' so that was short lived.

Amanda does a great job. No stupid comments or jokes. Very to the point questions and commentary. She should ride with Larry Dixon. I'd really like to get her impression on that ride.

jamie howe and amanda busick both do a great job for nhra/fox
Have to disagree. Both ask formatted questions. “ you just won the race, how will you maintain that momentum going into the next race.”? Or - “ you have to race the number 1 car next round, how will you prepare for that?”
Ugh

Better than saying he said she said, or listening to the low zone.

...or listening to some guy say, "I know what you mean..." after every comment made by the driver.

Hell, just teach Amanda how to drive it...then you'd get a really good impression. ;)

gary gerald asked those questions......i'll have to listen to bruno when he does his top end and pit interviews. see if he varies from the ladies.
what other form of motorsports offers so many interviews by winning and losing drivers all day long
