Frank Manzo working his magic.Mike Castellana won round 1 Pro Mod, set ET record at 5.722 (251.77). Man that's quick for an NHRA legal car! What really impressed me is that he ran 3.769 / 200.35 1/8 mile, so he picked up almost 52 MPH on the back half. Also thought his 1/8 mile times were respectable for a car with a 1/4 mile set up.
I love watching Xtreme Pro Mod on computer. Those cars can run quicker than NHRA TA/FC, with a short wheelbase. If NHRA ever ran that class 1/4 mile, it would take the place of the alky F/C's.
Normally you do but this year they didn't have comp. Of course not to many people noticed. One thing about Houston is that you get to see ALL the classes. Some nat'l events won't have T/AD or TA/FC, etc, but you get your moneys worth in Houston.
