Houston crowd

I would say the crowd was good, but not great.

Despite the pro parking snafu, I thought the event went off very clean. I was impressed and glad they had a solid crowd.

Locally, I heard plenty of radio and TV ads about the event. You generally would not consider the economy here to be hurting here, but I think fuel prices still hurt the draw (in spite of being what props up our local economy).

Was told by Seth Angel (track manager) that all three days were up this year, and he had a very big smile Sunday afternoon. Good weather certainly helped as well.

I have some pics of the Pro side stands about 95% full!

It was pretty packed on Sat. and Sun where I was sitting on the Pit side. Friday was the smallest crowd of the weekend but still strong. Now that I have nitro fresh in my senses I can't wait for E-Town.

There were also fans standing along the fence on both sides of the track. I thought it was an awesome turnout.

Saturday was packed... I parked in the neighborhood across the street from the track to avoid the hike in GA parking. Best turnout since I started going to Baytown.

Alan hit the nail on the head though - the weather was legit this past weekend!

So did I Mike, all 3 days!

That saved crazy amounts of time. I parked between the strip and dirt track last year and it took almost an hour to get to I10 that Sat night!

Between the weather, Zippy making the field in Q4 then going on to win.... This weekend was pretty nice!
