maximum of four one-day test sessions. This policy applies to both the team and driver.”
When the NHRA issues this press release and enters the word "and" in between team and driver it would appear to anyone remotely familar with the English language that the NHRA is telling me that a team and a driver can be a seperate entity. In this case Mr. Hight was in the seat on those 4 days, and his current AAA team/car was at the track. Which means while SEPARATE entitys, Robert is out of TESTS, and his AAA Ford is out of TESTS.
I read it back at the beginning of the year to mean that once a driver and his team have used up there 4 day allotment, the guy/gal driver can't go down the street and hop in another man's FUNNY CAR and turn some laps and not be penalized.
If Robert Hight has been in a seat for more than 4 days testing in a Nitro FUNNY CAR he is in violation.
This may be one of the most clear cut, easiest decisions to make. Robert Hight must forfeit points in Reading.
WHEN I READ THE RULE BACK IN THE WINTER, I FELT I KNEW WHAT IT MEANT. MANY OF YOU MAY HAVE AS WELL. IT ONLY TOOK SOMEONE TO CHALLENGE THE RULE TO OPEN IT UP TO INTERPRETATION.
When a sanctioning body does something like this ....well...I tend to not stick out those final 2 2/3 innings of the LLWS game to watch the product at 11pm!
