interesting stuff
if the words say one thing, then interpretations
from nhra allow for legal monday testing today for r. hight in john's car,
then hopefully other teams will utilize the same format.

can someone explain what car #7 is?

this from comp. plus article..... The philosophy behind the decision being that car #7 still had two test sessions available and it didn't matter who was driving the car. The car was being tested, not the driver.

In a conversation with Anthony Vestal, NHRA Director of Media Relations, Vestal confirmed that the test being conducted is being charged against the #7 team and is not a violation of the testing rule. “This is a test being conducted by the #7 team, as you call it, the driver is irrelevant.”

does it mean each of johns drivers can test each car 4 times?

The # 7 team is John's team. With Ford being the offical cars and trucks of the NHRA might have something to do with it also.

What a bunch of BS! Hight was out of test days so he should be docked points, just like was made clear would happen earlier in the year by NHRA themselves.

the beef here should be with NHRA and Light.....if Force went to him on Sunday and laid the scenario out and Light approved it then there is no fault with team Force as they covered themselves....and i guess i thought the test days were with the car too, not with the driver.....in theory it shouldn't really matter

Imagine the uproar from the Force fans if it had been DSR.

You think DSR would have been fined and penalized by the sanctioning body as well?

I'm a fan of neither, but as for your question regarding the fines, well, let's just say none of DSR's cars are Fords, so......

And yeah, Minick, the beef should be with Glendora, not JFR.

Seems like the rule could have been written better (hindsight is a *****!).

How about 4 days per team, per car?

JFR gets 16 days. Spend them how you want? I guess that is what the new NHRA rule is saying?

They should have left the driver out of the 4 test day rule, I don't know how many test days Jack Beckman has used this season, but he did make a pass or two in a nostalgia f/c, shouldn't that count as a test day also?

Force fan here PF... If DSR wanted to plug Jack, Ron, or Matt into the seat for all of their 12 season test runs, I'm good with that... however, Papa John can't Take laps in the AAA cars, The Prock Rocket is all out of tests.

From DRO : "Schumacher said he talked to NHRA VP Graham Light, who said the sanctioning body’s original press release was “not written correctly.”

damn typo's geeezz

Before I say anything i need to put out there that I am a fan of JFR.

As I understand it NOW each car is allowed 4 test days so in the case of JFR one driver could have tested 16 times without incurring a penalty. Weird how the points are awarded to the driver not the car but taken away only when the car exceeds 4 sessions...I think its giving me a headache trying to envision all the ramifications of this. If that's true then Robert could test in an all new car...couldn't he?
