Perhaps you can answer my question. Since neither ESPN or NHRA seem to have top-end video (even though we all know they do:rolleyes:), I am courious about something.

I heard Scott Kalitta's car slammed into the barrier (which, from my understanding, is not concrete:confused:) and then shot up like a rocketship and over.

My questions are:

If not concrete, what was it?

Did the car slam the barrier and stop, or did it go up and over? All we saw from the ESPN video was a huge fireball that just looked terrifying.

Thanks,
Andy

Andy,

The top end footage does not really show you all that much more then the footage from behind the car which was shown on ESPN. You see the car coming towards the camera and entering the trap at a high rate of speed and it appeared when the car hit the front of trap it went up into the air. Soon there after the camera goes dead from what I assume the collision with the camera boom.
