As per thje normal Nitro powered vehicle ill bet next race will be a new winner in the flopper class. Could get a 3 peat BUT odds are very very high against it.
lipper
Ran 278 to the 1/8 mile in that final. He was rolled in .015 or so too, could have been a 3.95/3.96.
Will be interesting to see what happens. There seems to be a pattern in funny car lately. They run real good at the start and suck at the end, or suck at the start and run real good at the end. I think the only team that put a solid entire season together lately was Force last year.
Not to mention doing it authoritatively. When I saw that 3.978 come up on the scoreboard Saturday afternoon for low qualifier I thought that's pretty darn good, but they won't run that in eliminations. Well he didn't - he bettered it with a 3.975... in the final round no less. I like their style!
I'm actually a Force fan but I gotta give credit where credit is due. That is one bad ass hot rod that Hagan is driving. However, the 4.07 he ran in the first round was beatable and he only qualified 12th in Pomona. So, there are flaws but he finds a way of winning. As far as Force, looks like he's having growing pains with his new crew chief. He can't get out of the first round and he's currently out of the top ten. I still don't understand why he didn't put Guido on his car. Guido had Ashley's car running great. Two US Nationals wins during her short career ain't too shabby.
With the first few pairs of dragsters smoking the tires and shaking, why try to run better than 4.07 againast Jeff Diehl?? You think his 4.07 was beatable in that situation? No offense to Jeff. I bet that is just want they wanted to run there.
