Hagan 3.954

60' time was good, but there were several better in 2014 regular season.

With all the bull shit on the car these days, it's not like you can go take 100 pounds off the car and run light. Even if you could, you don't learn anything doing it.

Nowadays, testing is all about gathering data, and seeing if changes made work, or don't. If they work, great, then you can put a number on the board to boost your ego a little bit. I would! Teams are not going to go all the way to PBIR in Decmeber just to run non-legal, and not learn anything to apply towards the start of the 15 season.

Why would you spend all that $$$ testing if your car isn't legal? I don't get it...

Yer Right Joe, in a .90 class. But in an all out / or pro class that's how you learn how to improve. For example lets use Pro/Stock:
Yer car runs 212-214MPH. How are you gonna know what it likes to run 216-218MPH. (wing hight-angle-gear ratio-ect.) unless you make it go that fast??
Like I said the easiest/cheapest way is to run light. Another way is to have a MOUNTAIN motor. (those Ihra boys are up around 225mph.)

Yer nitro cars can always just run too much %nitro. I like Hagan, don't get me wrong, "IF" the number is at legal everything, that's outstanding!!.
But what's the point of testing if yer NOT gonna try something new/different? If not, it's just another pass......
