<P>EPPING, N.H. (September 4, 2008) - IHRA Funny Car points leader Terry Haddock has two events left in the Lend America nitro Funny Car - two events in the 2008 season to make a lifetime dream come true. After accounting for the 41-point bonus for attending every INHRA race this season, Haddock is 51 points ahead his closest competitor heading into this weekend's Amalie Motor Oil North American Nationals at New England Dragway in Epping, N.H. and plans to extend that lead before the World Finals the middle of October in Rockingham, N.C.
"We've got a great car, great sponsors, and the best opportunity to win this whole thing out of anyone. With Lend America behind us, we're not just potential, we're positive energy moving forward with the goal of winning," Haddock said.
"All of the guys that [Lend America Chief Business Strategist and Lend America Racing owner] Mike Ashley has worked with in racing have all been so supportive of us. I’ve
learned a lot, especially when it comes to getting down the track in warm weather, which is usually what we see on race-day," he said.
Coming off an exciting match race in Grand Bend, Ontario where he won the event earlier in the year, Haddock said he's ready to get back on the track at Epping.
"This is a great track and we can usually do really well here because the air is typically very good. I expect good numbers from this Lend America Stratus because we got several things worked out last weekend in Canada and the entire team is ready to go racing," he said.
Qualifying is scheduled at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, and eliminations at 11 a.m. Sunday, September 7.
