Haddock cleans up in match race 'Night of Nitro' in Ontario

<P> GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (September 1, 2008) – Terry Haddock and his Lend America Dodge Stratus wowed the crowds in Grand Bend Ontario at the Teamsters Canada ‘Thunder by the Beach Weekend’ featuring the Saturday Night of Nitro. In two scheduled match races, Haddock beat 2007 IHRA Sportsman of the Year Jack Wyatt.
In the first lap, Haddock had a parachute shake loose but hung on for a 5.91-second win over Wyatt. In the second round, which went off after 10 p.m., the track was much better than anticipated and Haddock shook off the line, but pedaled it and legged it out for another win.
“What an awesome weekend,” Haddock said. “We really had a lot of fun with the fans, and you could tell they enjoyed the show.
“Aside from the pure fun of racing, we were able to work out a few things with our setup so we could prepare for this coming weekend in Epping [New Hampshire]. It was a great tune up for us, and something I’d definitely love to do again.
“The track is great, and the fans are incredible. I love coming to Canada to race – something that’s really special about the IHRA,” Haddock said.
“I’ve got to say thanks to the staff at Grand Bend Motorplex, as well as Lend America and DJ Safety. It’s an honor representing them and their commitment to racing,” he added.
