Clay Millican was still able to smile, but it wasn't really a happy one Sunday afternoon in the O'Reilly Raceway Park of Indianapolis pit area.

"Am I frustrated," he said while pondering a question, "but more than that, I'm disappointed we weren't able to make enough good runs for Mark Pickens and the people from Motorvation Automotive Performance Products who were sponsoring us for this race."

Millican's best run was 4.633 seconds at 319.07 mph that was 20th overall.

"We haven't been running well most of the year," Millican added, "but we will work our way out of it. These up and down cycles happen. It's like a pendulum. I hope we're at the bottom of it and that we get on the upswing soon.

"It's like the Captain (team owner Kenny Koretsky) says, 'If you keep pulling the handle of a slot machine enough times, sooner or later it will pay off. The key is to hit it before going bankrupt.

"Mike (Kloeber, crew chief) is working hard to turn things around. We just need to find a combination that will give us consistent performances."
