This is really neat. They did a pretty big media/PR blitz in Detroit before heading down to Ohio. I understand Autoweek Magazine helped out with this, too. Also had the ROCKY Boots dragster at Fin & Feather, warming up in the parking lot.

That IS a great article.

I'm especially impressed that Connie has been able to bring back 100 furloghed<sp> pilots and has made a special effort to run a successful business in Michigan.

Guys like Connie, Roger Penske, and the late Bill Davidson (Detroit Pistons and Guardian Industries <his REAL business>) ought to be cloned.

I agree 100%. Alot of his Flight Crews do not live in MI though; they more or less go to where ever the aircraft is. I especially like his comments on why there's isn't an NHRA FTRS marquee facility in the Motor City. I've joked with him before, that he should make it happen, and trust me; he wants NO part of that.

It is too bad we don't have an FTRS facility here. It is especially tough when we grew up with the Detroit Dragway. $$$
