Some of the most amazing reading about the sport is coming out of Phil Burgess' column in nhra.com. Notably his piece on Warren Coburn and Miller and today's poignant piece on R. Gaines Markley only serve to remind us of the human drama behind the scenes of the sport in its "golden era." Interesting to compare Markley's "blog" of those times with today's drivers.
