I'd bet dollars to donuts that they keep the Anheuser Busch and Budweiser names.
As far as my opinion towards the merger/buyout or whatever you call it, it could only mean good things for the Bud company....once peoples feelings are healed.

Remember it's not personal, it's business. :)

This Inbevs for you! You know they'll never drop any of the brand names, too much brand recognition. Inbev King? Don't think so...........

The real question is.... will the new owners stay involved in motor sports?

i read some where last week where AB was sueing InBev for misrepresentaion of something or another.... anyone else see it?.... see if i can dig it out....

The real question is.... will the new owners stay involved in motor sports?

Based on their non visable involvement in Euro racing and their reputation for cost cutting I wouldn't bet the Bud sponsorship will stay.

I believe there has also been some rumblings about Bud NASCAR sponsorship involvement. If they cut back in NASCAR it's almost for certain good bye NHRA.

They will probably follow the path that Miller took after a few corporate shuffles and buyouts.

Anheuser-Busch Sold out $52 Billion

ST. LOUIS-Anheuser-Busch reportedly has agreed to be acquired by Belgian brewer InBev for about $52 billion.

The deal being reported by The Wall Street Journal would create the world's largest brewer and put the iconic American beer maker in the hands of the Belgian-based company behind Stella Artois and Beck's beers.

The newspaper cited anonymous sources who said Anheuser-Busch-InBev would be the new company's name and Anheuser would have two seats on the company board.

Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc. did not return messages seeking comment Sunday evening.

The newspaper said the deal was for $70 a share. That's a $5 increase over the offer Anheuser-Busch rejected in June.

The last thing they will do is cut the ties to KB. They know their market and will want to be as seemless as possible in US so the Bernstien deal will stay I'm sure.

Anheuser-Busch Sale - BAD for RACING !!!

Heard today deal is going thru for $70 a share ($5 more than turned down first time, and 2 A-Bs on the board)

THESE deals are never good for racing...DRAG racing in particular.

I hope Kenny ( and Tom and Graham for that matter!) is brushing up on his German. Im not kidding!

Re: Anheuser-Busch Sale - BAD for RACING !!!

On the other hand Pro Mods are popular in Europe maybe they will gain some sponsorship .
North American headquarters remains in Saint Louis MO.
Hopefully tradition will continue.
I miss the beer car wars !

Re: Anheuser-Busch Sale - BAD for RACING !!!

Anytime American companies sell to companies outside of the US it's not a good thing for anybody (at least in this country). I'm sure when Mr. Busch built this company he was not thinking about it getting sold outside his family. Too bad, got to love greedy kids that sell out there legacy to become even more rich then they already were.

Would you stop drinking Budweiser if a Belgian company owned it?
Yes 20% 24250
No 25% 30487
I don't drink Budweiser 55% 66309

Maybe the loss of market share is why they are getting out now(?)

The 55% is saying something.

Re: Anheuser-Busch Sale - BAD for RACING !!!

Not saying I support the sale, but the family had little control over the actual deal as they owned little in terms of the company. INBEV was going to seek to replace the board if the final offer was not approved. Look at what Icann (spelling) is trying to do to Yahoo's board and CEO. He only owns 5% of Yahoo, and is going to try to get the board tossed out and replaced. He is working with Microsoft to do this.

On publicly traded companies, you can ask that the board and CEO be replaced by a vote. The AB family was trying to do what it could to get a fair price and to preserve some management in the deal.

As for the racing part, I am sure KB has a contract that will remain for now. Who knows....

Re: Anheuser-Busch Sale - BAD for RACING !!!

It will not stop me from drinking Busch Light or Bud Light.....just like the Miller thing didn't stop me from drinking Miller Lite. Um, not much stops me from drinking beer.

Cheryl,
The poll was taken today. As far as the Junior situation... I'm not a Nascar fan, but I would take his side over the step mom's based on the way things went down.;)
