Good Luck IHRA! (3 Viewers)

for their first go-round, i thought the race and the coverage went very good. i did not watch all weekend, but enough to get the flavor.
IMO the FC's were a better show than the TF'rs, but then again they were all battling high temps. 8 car qualified fields in both classes were great
for their first event. i enjoyed the camera work, including drone footage.
krista baldwin in the past has talked about how much money she tries to set aside for each race. it is obvious she is happy to let spencer massey
drive the car, IMO at least as much as her, if not more. i know she is a bubbly person, but she sure seemed pretty happy after losing a 50k to palmer.

runner up is probably more $ than she usually gets

She sure seems like the type you want to surround oneself with....

Krista has got a magnetic glow to her - a lust for life's little intricacies and an infectious aura that seems to agree with people, just like Scott's a great guy and it's no wonder he's got so many fans.

They did another gig besides where they have spent the majority of driving, got paid and thrilled some spectators.

Not a bad day's work IDC who ya are IMO....

I wonder if they get any new nitro competitors at Milan. Haddock is running in Europe the next two races. Ferre won’t be running there. Dave Gallegos is hoping to get the car back together in time. Not sure about Barker after the trip into the sand trap. There are plenty of other midwest cars that could show up that weren’t in Hebron. Just haven’t heard of any new additions as of yet.

If those guys got paid the count will increase. If they didn't the word will spread.

who was doing color commentary on the youtube feed last weekend. two guys.
sounds as if one of them is a former FC driver? thought they did a great job.

Unfortunately for the most part even if the payouts were made, most teams lost money racing. Krista won $25K for 5 passes. Between the parts, crew and travel she most likely lost money on the event. However it is double of what she would get from NHRA for 5 passes with a first round exit. Yes it makes sense for the low buck teams to run IHRA over NHRA but it’s still a loss financially. They all do it for love and not profit but you can’t take a $5000 loss if you don’t have $5000 to lose. I think the late announcement of the IHRA races makes it difficult for some teams to switch races and sanctions. Now next year I would think more could choose the IHRA. The two day event with two qualifying passes makes more sense for the independent teams.

I just noticed that they are paying Pro mod 50K to win as well. I understand low car count for TF & FC but I would think the place would be packed with Pro mod cars. Flying H has be advertising their big 45K to win event in August.

More loss at nhra race. IHRA races mostly close, Galot further but you know 1st rd money is more. Monday Morning Racer podcast had a great comparison Tuesday night. I’d like to see I IHRA events at Steele AL, Baton Rouge, and get Bradenton back. Hope Alex is holding the big check soon.
