Well I think pretty much anything that could go wrong did yesterday. Still they pushed on and put on the best show they could. Broadcast was great and it think there's a bright future ahead for the IHRA.
I was in attendance yesterday. I am a long time fan and have attended numerous NHRA and old IHRA national events over the years. I enjoyed myself for the most part yesterday but I must admit that at times it was very challenging from a fans standpoint.
With all that went wrong I was still very impressed with the new IHRA. I actually think they have a bright future and they will grow as long as they continue to learn from their mistakes and listen to the racers and the fans. I know its challenging for them to choose race dates but Columbus also hosted the huge Good Guys event this weekend. I'm sure many drag racing fans chose to attend GG instead.
I agree. I thought the girls did a great job too. I wonder if they grew up around the sport because they definitely weren’t in the dark. I was really impressed with the broadcast
I'm still trying to find the results from the Finals in the nitro categories that ran this morning. Anybody know who won Top Fuel and Funny Car? I got on the YouTube livestream too late to see them run.

Been watching a lot of other forms of racing lately; the moment an incident occurs, the swarm of raceday personnel is immediate. INDYCAR, F1, NASCAR, even the endurance races- everyone on those safety squads seem to be there paying the utmost attention to hot cars on the track, and are on it immediately when something occurs.
This was hard to watch. I hope the big heads at IHRA have one hell of a sit down with their people about how to handle emergencies such as this.
Thinking car counts will be up at Milan. Hopefully weather will be better. I think they did a good job considering. Sure they learned some things. Thought TV coverage was excellent. Announcers , pit reporters , best I've heard in a long time , just enough but not to much. Just my 2 cents.
I am going to say with all the positive reviews of the event spectatorship will go up. The IHRA also needs to check the local schedules to make sure they aren't up against another long standing event like the Good Guys in Columbus on the same weekend.
