Get the crying towel out

Tony is whining again.
Could not make the turn around.
Why the shortened turn around anyway?
Had too many NEW crew guys but never mentioned what was wrong with the car. He made the turn around the previous rounds?
Good for Johny Gray. He made the Force car work for the win, close race

I just dont understand what is going on anymore with NHRA. They shortened the turnaround time due to TV commitments. I could really care less about live final round coverage. I get where Tony is coming from but on the other he has been doing this a while. New crew guys or not, its his responsibility to make sure his guys are prepared. Johnny Gray managed to get up to the lanes after the pulley seized up. No excuses. When you are at this level of competition you better have your crap together. If I was STP I'd be pretty pissed after just investing a ton of money into a program, and the crew not being able to get the car ready. What does that say about Tony? Suck it up, turn the wrenches and make sure your guys are ready to go. There is so much garbage in the NHRA right now. The oil down issues, fan attendance, sponsors, we all know the story. The economy is crap and we get that, however there are multiple things the sanctioning body can do to tighten this operation up. Its really sad for me to see my favorite sport tanking so fast. I fear in the next 5 years if changes aren't made there will be no more NHRA. Just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. :D

Gotta admit though the live TV is sweet. Just racing and that's it. Not 900 replays of the same race over and over. No senseless interviews leading up to the races. It just flows nicely ... light 'em up and send 'em. Show over.

didn't see broadcast yesterday - did cruz's guys help also? and still
didn't make call?

They could edit taped coverage that way too. Doesn't have to be "live" to look "live".

As a fan I'd rather see all the cars run rather then have live TV.

Great so we had live coverage but didn't get to see all the cars run. The people in the seats at the track pay to see races, not single runs.

Grenaded an engine in the previous round.

In my opinion, he made a mistake publically calling out his inexperienced crew. Not exactly a morale booster. I'm sure the crew felt bad enough as it was.

Tony won Columbus in '06', grenaded an engine every round and still won the race,,, That was shortened turnaround for fear of weather........;);)

If I purposely stay away from the updating websites on Sunday, then (to me) a same day tape delayed event from 7-10pm feels live to me anyway.

That's all.

Only a fool would compare his crew and parts inventory to the JFR juggernaut.

No crying towel needed on the top end after beating John Force in Round 2. Tony, I hate you didn't make the semi's call, but beating John Force in Round 2 was the "jump off the couch moment" for me on Sunday. Thanks.

They had only a 60 minute turnaround, in order to accommodate getting the finals on live TV.
Given an inexperienced crew having to replace the entire engine and who knows what else, it's understandable why TP didn't make the call.
However, he should not have called out his crew on television. It would have been better to just say there was too much work and not enough time, and just left it at that.
