Both.It wasn't just you.
Wait! Was you talking about the Fox broadcast or NHRA.TV?
More commercials is a GOOD thing. Advertising helps pay the bill for the free Fox broadcast (as opposed to increased ticket prices) and it shows that advertisers want to reach our audience. Is it just me or were there way too many commercials on the NHRA shows yesterday?
I believe Kurt is retired from NASCAR and has done some drag racing, he qualified in PS in a Mopar in 2011. So, I'm guessing he was there to take in the race and they invited him up to the booth.what if they used the 4 wide tracks for Live Fox Network......have the other pair of lanes always prepped and ready so the sunday show can progress as quickly
as possible, so all pro class finals start on time and broadcast finishes on time........thought the tv broadcast was very good yesterday......how did nhra end up with kurt busch in booth?
He did mention he loved door slammers and he might do a "Tom Brady" retirement someday (that was me referring to Tom Brady not him).I believe Kurt is retired from NASCAR and has done some drag racing, he qualified in PS in a Mopar in 2011. Had a serious concussion at a race in Pocono last season (not his first) Slow recovery and he's seemed to accept that his quality of life is more important at this point. Been racing a long time.He did mention he loved door slammers and he might do a "Tom Brady" retirement someday (that was me referring to Tom Brady not him).
I think the teams would throw a fit if they had to run on an unknown track without any qualifying done on it. The competition would suffer.what if they used the 4 wide tracks for Live Fox Network......have the other pair of lanes always prepped and ready so the sunday show can progress as quickly

Come on now. 4 wide is a gimmick a far as I am concerned and is catering to one person, the owner of the tracks that have it. Sure he fills the track in the south where the people love racing no matter what. But not realy sure in Vegas. The 2 races there usualy draw good for one - the other so-so. Maybe that has changed with the 4 wide, I don't know. But having some races run in 2 lanes and maybe some in the other 2 lanes would be a losing proposition. Don't think the racers would go for it.what if they used the 4 wide tracks for Live Fox Network......have the other pair of lanes always prepped and ready so the sunday show can progress as quickly

They do that now. One half of sportsman classes runs 1-2 and the other half runs 3-4 that way they even out the rubber. As far as attendance last year's Vegas 4-wide had a pretty good crowd. In years past from what I heard the spring Vegas race pre 4-wide was pretty abysmal went it came to butts in the seats but since they went to 4-wide in the spring the crowds have been pretty good.Come on now. 4 wide is a gimmick a far as I am concerned and is catering to one person, the owner of the tracks that have it. On SXM Nascar radio's Speedway show yesterday callers were complaining about too many commercials during Sundays race. Dave Moody's producer looked it up and they said Fox and NBC each pay Nascar $25,000,000 per race! That is just what Nascar gets not counting broadcaster salaries, equipment, travel, etc. The NHRA Fox tv contract seems to be a secret but I would bet it's a lot. Hence, we have to have commercials.More commercials is a GOOD thing. Yes, but on any given weekend there are ten broadcasts for all of NASCAR including Cup - Xfinity - Truck, practice - qualifying & race. So when all three divisions are running that is about $23,300,000 (2.4 billion over 10 years) divided by 10 years and total races. Even thouge some get more and some get less, $2,330,000 averaged out doesn,t seem out of line for the total number of viewers they get. Also if that includes the Pre Race - Post Race and the Talk shows the price goes way down. Fox & NBC are not going to lose money - Besides the Bean Counters probably think a DRAG race is a bunch of Guys in Dresses and Nike'S running around a track. On SXM Nascar radio's Speedway show yesterday callers were complaining about too many commercials during Sundays race. Warren you do a great job along with Amanda and Bruno. No mindless, stupid comments and phrases. You also talk to the audience as if they know what they are watching,,,,not explaing the same things every race.More commercials is a GOOD thing.
