there are other ways to make this sport safer without shortchanging the drivers and the fans.

oh well.

I got the tour de france to keep me entertained for the next 2 weeks.

This circus called nhra has jumped the shark.

I'd much rather have 1,000 feet than lose another person the caliber of Scott Kalitta. I'm conflicted being a fan of any sport that is so dangerous. Scott may be my tipping point as a nitro fan.

Technology has made the sport safer on the one hand, but new ways to be fatally injured in these cars always seem to soon follow.

I can't tolerate the "driver dies in fatal accident, but we'll develop the technology to fix it" paridigm we're currently in.

The FMD and nostalgia F/C circuit may become my new nitro fix of choice.....?
You don't get the NHRA and corporate/TV B.S. over there as much, as an additional benefit!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it will happen again! You can't watch such an extreme sport and be that naive to think otherwise.
The only way to never see it again would be to never watch it again are you ready to do that?
