Indianapolis - A faulty spark plug prevented Dave Connolly from making his first Saturday qualifying run and he didn't improve upon his Friday elapsed time on his second attempt as preparations continued for Monday's 52nd U.S. Nationals at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.
"The car left the line OK on the first run but the motor began cutting in an out so I just shut it off," Connolly reported. "We were lucky it wasn't anything more serious. These Pro Stock motors don't run very well on seven cylinders."
Connolly went 6.748 at 205.10 mph on his evening run.
Friday's 6.705-second effort still best for Connolly
