WOW!!!!!!

Since he catches so much hell on here, and I am one to give it to him sometimes as well, I wanted to send congrats so far ( I know its early) but he atleast got down the track apparently, to Barry Grant.

It's been an ugly session for the fuel coupe guys. Almost no one has been able to get down the strip under power.

TJ just layed the first full run down, and gets a 4.86 @ 300

WOW!!!!!!

Is this correct...Ricky Smith in 15th position? I thought he went to race Mountain Motor Pro Stock in IHRA.

After one round of qualifying in Funny Car, the order is:

1. John Force 4.860
2. Tommy Johnson Jr
3. Ron Capps
4. Scott Kalitta
5. Tony Pedregon
6. Eric Medlen
7. Del Worsham
8. Jack Beckman
9. Tony Bartone
10. Fronk Pedregon
11. Gary Densham
12. Tim Wilkerson
13. Cruz Pedregon
14. Phil Burkart
15. Robert Hight
16. Paul Lee 10.99 @ 73

It was an ugly session for the fuel floppers. Virtually no one was able to get the length of the strip under power. The air may have been there, but the surface wasn't. Soft bump spot.

Steve Torrence makes his first run, lays down a 4.65 @ 287, loses a chute, and still makes the turnoff OK.

After one round of qualifying in Top Fuel, the order is:

1. Tony Schumacher 4.51 @313
2. Hot Rod Fuller
3. J.R. Todd
4. Melanie Troxel
5. Doug Kalitta
6. Dave Grubnic
7. Brandon Bernstein
8. Morgan Lucas
9. Hillary Will
10. Troy Buff
11. SteveTorrence
12. Larry Dixon
13. David Baca
14. Scott Weis
15. Doug Herbert
16. Clay Millican 5.28

Because they've got that big wing out up there, the diggers seemed to have a better handle on a surface the Floppers had a hard time navigating.

Man, they are just mowing them down in ProStock.

Forget rewriting the record book. Tear it up, burn the peices, and start with a new one.

Greg backed up the 6.598 from the first round with a 6.604. And we have a new worlds fastest field in Pro-Stock history. That sure didn't take long, did it? Many of the drivers are making personal best runs and are either in the bottom of the grid or still outside!

Man, what a tough class to race in!!
