Force / Castrol re-up

But we didn't seem to have any time for a quick interview with Rodger Brogden to give him a chance to hype his new sponsor a bit, although we did seem to have plenty of time to show Force riding endlessly up and down the return road...

Spot on...I'm not a JFR hater, but I have been tired of ESPN always showing the JFR circus.

The Zizzo & Brogdon sponsors were it. Not much to do over either. There should have been some 5 minute fluff piece on both to at least give them time to brag about it. Zizzo is only part time and Brogdon isn't a huge player so I still consider these small time compared to the usual.

TJ Zizzo sure got Rustoleum a lot of airtime, but not the way he wanted too to be sure. That bang will be shown over and over for quite sometime!!

Really sad.....we usually here some big, important announcements come out at Indy...new sponsors, lost sponsors, drivers changing teams, etc.....I don't recall much at all....that was actually confirmed and announced.

According to fellow Mater Jon Asher's Indy blog from Monday, Vandergriff is officially stepping out of his seat, Connolly is officially stepping in AND Larry Dixon will run the full tour in Vandergriff's second car (the Cased Hole Solutions car) next year.

John is just feeling the overhead, as in money to pay a cast of thousands every week and all the other expenses that go with it. The big show came and went and there are no deals to announce yet. He probably has received or is about to receive his last check from Ford and Castrol. That and the other sponsors should fund the deal through the finals but what then? Some behind the scenes employees won't be needed that long if there is no next year to prepare for. The pressure is building and it is obvious. It is sad he is in this situation but it is what it is. Employees may be jumping ship now or soon and some figure they are going to get let go. It is just part of "the deal".

You mean, TJ Zizzo + Rust-Oleum, right? Or was there also a link to JR Todd?

I sent the Brogdon + Owens Corning NHRA link to a friend who used to work at Owens and expect it will make the rounds. More press during the TV coverage would have been nice.
holy crap I'm an idiot. All the initials got me confused:oops:

Tony congrats on your deal. I bumped into TJ coming off the elevator at our hotel in Indy, I was just checking in so it was very exciting later on to hear about the new sponsorship. Deals like this are extremely important, it may not be a 3Mil full pull program, but it's a new sponsor and it's giving a part-time team more depth. That's huge. And, who knows where it can go.

Tony, great job. Lots of sponsors start small and turn into something big. JR is the same one who started the Mrs Anderson thread because he heard it.
