Force Annoucement Today

So far, they have said Auto Club resigned for 5yrs and Traxxas is good for 4yrs. John also said that he can't retire, doesn't want to retire, and he loves racing. I have to run to meetings, hopefully others can fill in what else is talked about.

His announcement is that he hired a marketing firm to search for sponsors and there will be no sponsor announcements until after 2014 because Castrol and Ford deserve 100% of their focus.

Driving Force is coming back, and it will be more focused on positioning the girls in corporate America more so than what happens on the track.

I think the strategy is that they have to go outside the sport in order to get enough exposure to replace the kind of corporate support they got from Ford and Castrol. Sounds like a good game plan.

Let's see just how viable these outside sponsors feel about Sponsoring a 65 year old driver? Everyone knows Sponsor crave that 18-35 Demo!

But John appeals to the 18-35 demographic, Joe... This place is a perfect example of that. Force creates this "thing" that makes people love him, and HIS age has nothing to do with the age of the people that would buy a product he pushes.

It's not like he's Jessica Fletcher or Andy Griffith... ;)

Outside of Drag racing? That remains to be seen.

It's called, "charisma" and John has it in spades. He also has some, "chutzpah" mixed in for good measure.

Just been watching old driving force episodes. I still laugh when he pulls up to McDonald's and orders a hamburger then drives off proclaiming "best burger in the world" . I would to say the McDonald's cheeseburger is better but can agree with him.

Sorry for being so dense but can someone explain what this "announcement" was really about?
Was it just that JFR hired a marketing agency to TRY to find a sponsor the winningest driver in NHRA history and his daughter?
If so, gotta hand it to the PR-machine as I dont think I ever heard of a press conference to announce that a team was hiring someone to help them find a sponsor.

or......
that arguably the most recognizable name in drag racing just lost two huge financial sponsors and no one
came knocking on his door, now forced to hire an agency to 'pimp' his brand...(another agency, previously
with IMG, who by the way still displays NHRA as a client )
john could run his 4 teams on 2/3'ds of what he spends, if not less.....so could many of the top teams,
including PS.....hard to leave a certain comfort level, it's just human nature.

What a day for not only John Force Racing but for the NHRA. I can just imagine all those press folks wondering....which sponser that's on one of those cars out the window is going to be associated with this superstar.

I also found it interesting that these people that are used to dealing with mega superstars are stating "that's a tough act to follow".

For those who don't get it....NHRA is so lucky to have John Force. He can work the crowd like no other. Now that Hollywood is finally getting it the sky's the limit for the John Force and NHRA brand.

Every corporation worth chasing is in NASCAR already. For what they spend to be on a quarter panel over there, someone could get a tremendous deal at JFR, and many other teams for that matter. My prediction is that's where John will find new partners, and I wouldn't doubt if that happens, others will follow.
