FOLLOW A DREAM AND MARTY NOTHSTEIN READY TO ROLL AT DIVISION 1 OPENER AT VIRGINIA MOTORSPORTS PARK

Marstons Mills, VA – Hopes are running high as Follow A Dream’s Marty Nothstein prepares for this weekend’s (May 2-4, 2008) Northeast Division 1race at Virginia Motorsports Park outside of Richmond, Virginia.

“This is very exciting for me,” said Nothstein, the 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist in track cycling. “First, it’s great to get right back in the seat after last week’s season opener at the Southern Nationals. I think we were able to make great strides with the new car last week, and I expect the team to give me an awesome car this weekend.”

“Secondly, for the first time in my drag racing career, I’m competing in my home division, which I believe is one of the most competitive,” added Nothstein, who’s a native of eastern Pennsylvania. “The talent is deep in this division, and I love the challenge.”

In his debut as the new driver of the Permatex/Wynn’s Texas Roadhouse 2008Chevrolet Impala SS Top Alcohol Funny Car, Nothstein qualified 14th at last weekend’s NHRA Southern Nationals in Commerce, Georgia. Nothstein’s best qualifying run came on his third attempt with a pass of 5.810 seconds (249.76MPH). He then improved on that time in his loss to Steve Harker in the opening round of eliminations with a run of 5.796 seconds.

“Your first divisional race, always gets the blood pumping a little more,” said Follow A Dream, Incorporated team owner Jay Blake, who is the only totally blind crew chief in motorsports. “We learned a lot about the new Pro Start Chevrolet Impala SS Top Alcohol Funny Car, and I expect the guys and Marty o step it up this weekend.”
