Not sure if the spoiler rules apply here during qualifying, so I'll just say that I'm surprised nobody has mentioned how fast the fuel cars are running this weekend. Must be killer conditions.

Yeah, 6 or 7 F/C in 3.90'S conditions must be right should be good tomorrow too forecast same as today. This is why the drivers don't want this track to go away, they love it.

NHRA spent a lot of time here before the Atlanta race getting the track ready. Considering no one has raced on it all year, the ETs have been amazing. I know NHRA gets bashed a lot on the boards but it appears in this case they did a great job.

The bashing has more to do with their ill advised running of the sport we all love, and it's fully warranted, not so much with track prep. In fact, the Safari crew gets much acclaim from what I've seen, which is also warranted.

What is it about that track that seems to really smile on funny cars and is just a journeyman track for T/F and P/S?

I read someplace they had OVER 13 3 second passes by the floppers. 5 was JAck Beckman alone! Chad head was THE quickest and Tim Wilkerson got his forst 3's as well!
For unexplained reasons at Topeka IF it is overcast and almost rainy the ET's fell!
I thought T/F and P/S had some pretty quick runs as well NOT records but QUICK!
Well will see how the Topeka deal shakes out.
BAck in the early days they had the ticket gate off the right side of the tower and ya went right from tickets to BEHIND the towwer,, for stoopid resons they added like 1/8th mile by winding around to get to the spec side then further to BEHIND the tower to get to the pits.......2008 was my last and final visit,my health(diabetic) has made that long a walk no fun.....same year they jacked ticket prices on Friday and i was done.
