Finke crash at Epping

Bad crash today at the Lucas oil divisional at Epping. Alcohol dragster driver John Finke Lost the wing on his car at the1/8 mile. Parts and pieces punctured his right rear tire and he hit the wall after the finish line. The jaws of life had to be used to cut him out of the car.

According to photographer David Smith on Facebook he got his bell rung but is ok and is out and about.

It looks like the tire failed first which took out the wing.

Looked to me like he hit the wall causing the tire failure...but maybe my eyes are deceiving me.

Definitely possible too. He's so close to the wall it's hard to tell if the tire failed and then he hit the wall, or the other way around.
