Let's say you had the opportunity to put together a fantasy band.
Situation 1: You had the power to resurrect late greats as well as recruit people who are still alive for the project.
Situation 2: You had no such power and such had to choose people are are still with us.
You are allowed a max of 3 guitarists, 1 bassist, 1 drummer, one keyboardist (optional), and an optional vocalist. Also allowed to choose 2 optional "guest performers."
For me, situation 1:
Guitar 1: Jimi Hendrix
Guitar 2: Stevie Ray Vaughan
Guitar 3: Steve Vai
Bass: Billy Sheehan
Drums: Neal Peart
Keyboards: Reese Wynans
Vocalist: Ann Wilson
Guest performer 1: Stuart Hamm (hint: Bass-off!)
Guest performer 2: Robert Palmer
For me, situation 2:
Guitar 1: Joe Satriani
Guitar 2: Neal Schon
Guitar 3: Steve Vai
Bass: Billy Sheehan
Drums: Neal Peart
Keyboards: Jonathan Cain
Vocalist: Ann Wilson
Guest performer 1: Stuart Hamm
Guest performer 2: Katharine McPhee (hey, there are some classics that she would be good at....)
