Monster, Rockstar, I'm sure I can think of a few more!
That's not really walking away...it's locking in a long-term deal for a series sponsor when it relates to Monster and Rockstar. I didn't see either of these two stepping up to the plate for that task!
Also, weren't these two grandfathered in? If I recall correctly, the teams that they were sponsoring weren't really performing that well......I'm sure that didn't help in their decision to stay or leave.
Was it the right decision to partner with Coca-Cola.....maybe, maybe not. NHRA did get a series sponsor that has been here since 2002, so I think they did pretty well IMO.
