that's awesome. the Franklin Family bought the track the end of the year and it is currently getting complete new concrete the full 1320. also got new drainage system along the track to get rid of past "seepage" issues.
Good to hear, went there a few times back when the NHRA had a national event there and enjoyed it.. Glad they solved the water problem and hopefully attendance will be good as I believe that was one of the problems that ghey had.
The first time around was them switching to IHRA sanction. They held events from 1995 to 2000. Then switched to IHRA and held events from 2001 to 2005 before coming back to NHRA for 2006 to 2009. It could have been dropped in favor of the first 4 wides in 2010, but they did go back to the IHRA fold that year as well.
Tommy Franklin is the new track owner. He also owns PDRA & runs a nitrous car in that ass'n. He said they are fixing the drainage problems on the track and also going to full 1/4 mile concrete. It is really nice that a racers owns the track & I really hope this race will be a great success for him & NHRA.
