SOUTHFIELD, MI … Mike Janis and his Eaton-sponsored Chevrolet Cobalt will return to Tulsa Raceway Park, Tulsa, OK, June 23rd for the inaugural Skull Shine Sooner Nationals making plenty of horsepower. His challenge will be harnessing that horsepower and turning it into his first trip to Victory Lane this season.
"We spent a lot of time previous to the first trip to Tulsa testing so we know that we have the power," Janis said. "We just needed to find a way to tame the power and put down on the track consistently. I think our numbers during qualifying show promise," said Janis.
Before the event was postponed due to inclement weather Janis was able to harness the horsepower of his Jan-Cen built power plant and post a
6.097 elapsed time at 235.89 miles per hour, good enough for second in the qualifying order. Janis 235.89 also set a new Tulsa Raceway Park track record. By virtue of qualifying Janis will face the number 10 qualifier, Rickie Smith, in round one on Saturday June 23
rd. Action will begin at 12 noon with a round of time trials for the professional categories, followed by eliminations at 4:30 p.m., 6, 8 and finals at 10.
