Janis Hungry For Points at Milan

ELMA, N.Y. – Mike Janis and his Eaton sponsored team will return to competition at the re-scheduled Suzuki Motor City Nationals presented by GM Performance Division and Heritage Newspapers on September 21 – 23 at Milan Dragway. With only three races remaining in the 2007 Knoll Gas Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series season Janis is fifth in championship points and still within striking distance of his third series championship.

Crew chief Mike Janis junior feels this race could be the most important of the season to this point. "This is most likely to be the race that will dictate the championship this year. The top six to eight guys in points all have a chance right now but after Milan it'll be down to the top three or four. So, this event will be pivotal and it's going be a battle. If we can concentrate on our regular program without any curveballs we have as good a shot as any," said Mike junior.

Driver and Team Owner Mike Janis understands that points are at a premium this time of year. "We have to try and take what ever is left on the table. Last man standing and a shot at the record," said Janis. "We need all the points we can get. We recently re-set the top speed record but that record doesn't have points associated with it. Right now the nighttime weather looks favorable for a record run but you can never be sure,' said the two time series champ.
