To a certin extent i understand what they (he) were wanting to do... This was about the time NASCAR stepped up and realy tried to take control of what they realy hadn't wanted to.,. they left alot of the liscencing up to the drivers and got some of it sent there way... NASCAR soon realised with their new tv package and new found fan base that there were big opurtunities for financial gains.....the NHRA was trying to do the same and drum up business for themselves... but they .. to me seemed to go about it the wrong way with the company....

it was kind of funny to us.. and still is....

Sponsors rely upon team PR people to spread the word. If NHRA was more effective at their role as a sanctioning body in terms of media coverage this issue would ever come up.
