DRAG RACING’S BOSS BACK IN DARWIN WITH NITRO

After taking Darwin by storm only a month ago with his Jack Daniel’s Racing and Glenfords Racing Top Doorslammers at the Hidden Valley Drag Strip, Brett ‘The Boss’ Stevens will be returning to the Top End on August 19 for the Trans Tasman Bike Challenge with his Jack Daniel’s Racing Top Bikes.

Fuelled by Nitro Methane, these two wheeled beasts produce approximately 800 horsepower which is more than a Formula One car or approximately equal to four World Superbikes.

Stevens was the 2005 National Top Bike Champion and currently holds the record for the quickest Harley ever in Australia with a personal best of 6.50 seconds at 215 mph (347 kph).

“It was such a great event last month at the NT Titles with my Top Doorslammers I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring up my Top Bikes for all the motorsport fans up here,” Stevens said.

“I have been riding Nitro bikes now for 15 years but it will be the first time I have ever had them up in Darwin so I am really looking forward to coming back up, and knowing the crowds up here I’m sure they will love the show as well.”

“I have also heard that the Track Record for bikes at the Hidden Valley Drag Strip has stood for over 10 years so we will be having a good go at lowering that.”

Brett Stevens is one of the most exciting personalities in Australian Drag Racing and operates the largest motorsport team in the country.

Along with his Top Bike, he also competes in the Australian Top Doorslammer Championship in his Jack Daniel’s Racing Falcon and in the Australian Top Alcohol Championship in his Kitten Car Care Products Funny Car, making him the only person in the world to simultaneously compete in three professional Drag Racing brackets.

Some of his other racing accomplishments include winning the 2005 Australian Top Bike Championship and the 2004 Australian Top Doorslammer Championship, as well as being an inaugural inductee into the Australian Motorcycle Hall of Fame alongside Mick Doohan.

Troy McLean, who rides the second Jack Daniel’s Racing Nitro Harley, is also one of the countries leading Top Bike pilots.

He was runner up to ‘The Boss’ in the 2005 Australian Top Fuel Motorcycle Championship and placed third in both 2004 and 2006. In the 2005 season McLean also amazingly lowered the mark for Australia's quickest Harley Davidson on four occasions and held it for 12 months before Stevens snatched it back.

With a personal best time over the quarter mile currently standing at 6.51 second at 209 mph (337 kph), he is just 1 hundredth of a second behind Stevens.

As well as witnessing Stevens and McLean running down the quarter mile in 6 seconds at speeds of around 350 km/h on two wheels, the Jack Daniel’s Racing team will also be at the Hidden Valley Tavern from 5:00pm of Friday 18th August meeting the fans with the 2000 horsepower Jack Daniel’s Racing Burnout Ute.
