Barklage Racing is hoping to be double trouble for their competition during the Torco Race Fuels NHRA Nationals, in Petersburg, Virginia.
Seasoned AMS Pro Modified driver Zach Barklage, along with his younger brother and driving protege Cody Barklage, will attempt to go rounds in Virginia. The highly competitive duo is back in action together, and the team is hungry to go rounds.
The team is coming off a highly productive weekend just one week ago in San Antonio, Texas during the Super Chevy Show. Both young drivers were able to go rounds, with Cody going to the semi finals and Zach going to the final round. The highly competitive family is striving to carry over their success and winning attitude to the NHRA National Event.
"We want to run the cleanest program we can," said Cody Barklage. "We need to go rounds and finish as strong as possible. I think it will be a good weekend for us with my brother Zach racing here this weekend."
Cody went on to joke, "I just hope I get a chance to put him on the trailer."
"We're using some new combinations," said Zach Barklage. "We are hoping for the best and we'll see what happens. We are planning on stepping it up a bit this weekend and we are very optimistic about the outcome. Cody has been doing a great job driving this season, and he's working hard to finish as high as possible in the top ten. Our overall team goal is for both of us to go rounds and hopefully with me racing for the last two races, we can combine our efforts to allow Cody a strong finish."
With only two races left in the series for the year, the team is concentrating on a strong finish. After being in the top 10 for the last several years with Zach Barklage, the team is has a goal to give Cody the chance to show the Pro Mod world how well he can race.
